GOALS
Youth Services - Our young people are our future. Developing programs that will support them is important and necessary. Tutoring programs, job training, internships and engaging in activities that supports positive images is one of my priorities.
Senior Support - I have a track record in working with our seniors. They play a very important role in our community and we have a duty to provide them with the services and support they need to continue to be thriving members of our community.
Effective Communications - I want to hear from you in order to better serve you. Developing a communications strategy that will foster open and direct communications between our residents and the City government is an important goal that I plan to meet.
Balancing the Budget – This is a critical issue for me. It is important to maintain wise stewardship over the City’s finances. The City has been blessed with almost 6 million dollars from the American Rescue Plan. We need to make sure these funds are spent properly and used to help our community. I also believe there may be ways to tighten our belts and continue to provide great services to our community, while keeping city taxes from increasing.
Community Unity – It takes a village to promote positive change. Our community is diversifying culturally, and I plan to promote community programs and activities that will embrace and unite the beauty of our differences.
Safety – Violence has visited our City at a rate that requires us to take action. I plan to work with City and County officials, as well as, local law enforcement personnel to provide information and engage in programs that will foster a safe environment for our community.
